TLEA is currently welcoming applications for a Trainer and Assessor to join our Kwinana team on a maximum term contract for 6 months, working a Monday to Friday roster.

In this role, you will:

This role will suit a proactive, solutions-focused professional with strong training and assessment capability within operational or high-risk environments. You will be responsible for delivering training, conducting competency assessments and Verification of Competency (VOC) activities, and supporting workforce capability, compliance, and safety outcomes across site operations.

You will work closely with operational stakeholders to deliver engaging classroom, practical, and field-based training while ensuring training and assessment activities align with site procedures, National Competency Standards, and business requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver HSE inductions, Permit to Work (PTW), safety-critical, nationally recognised, and site-based training programs.
  • Conduct competency-based assessments and VOCs, including High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) related activities.
  • Develop and maintain training and assessment materials aligned to operational procedures and competency requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant training records within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Provide technical training support and guidance to employees, contractors, and operational stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across training, assessment, and competency systems.
  • Build strong working relationships across operations, maintenance, HSE, and contractor groups to support safe and effective operational outcomes.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).
  • Experience delivering training and conducting assessments in operational or high-risk environments.
  • Experience conducting VOC and HRWL-related assessments.
  • Strong understanding of competency-based training and assessment practices.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and maintaining accurate training records.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Experience within mining, processing, resources, or heavy industry environments will be highly regarded

LOCATION

TLEA proudly acknowledges and the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.

 

Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
