ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking an experienced and talented Technician Laboratory to join our team on a permanent full-time basis, at our laboratory in Kwinana.
The successful applicant will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and will be responsible for producing high quality analytical data for the Kwinana Lithium Hydroxide Production Plant, in a safe, efficient and timely manner. This position is an even-time roster involving 12-hour days and nights on a five-on five-off four-on shift pattern, including working weekends and public holidays.
In addition to possessing our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this position will suit a well-rounded laboratory professional with functional and technical knowledge, who can perform the job at a high level of accomplishment. Our on-site laboratory team perform various sample preparation techniques, and analytical methods. The laboratory has a wide range of advanced instrumentation, including ICP-OES, ICP-MS, WD-XRF, TGA, Ion Chromatography, Auto-titrator, and Laser Particle Sizer.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrated commitment to the maintenance of a safe working environment.
- Comply with all relevant standards in the Laboratory Quality Manual and Company policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Prepare samples for analysis.
- Analyse samples using standard laboratory methods.
- Operate and perform maintenance on laboratory equipment as required.
- Co-ordinate and prioritise work to meet turnaround times.
- Register jobs, enter data, review results and generate reports.
- Assist in method development and validation projects and the writing of Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and procedures.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement processes.
- Participate in all Laboratory activities including shift change, toolbox and safety meetings, audits and professional development training.
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years’ experience as a laboratory technician in a commercial, mining or production Laboratory.
- Minimum Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or similar related discipline.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and software systems such as WD-XRF, ICP-OES, Titration and LIMS.
- Sound knowledge of quality assurance and quality control management practices.

LOCATION
TLEA proudly acknowledges and the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.
Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
