ABOUT THE POSITION

TLEA is currently welcoming applications for a Superintendent Process Engineering to join our Kwinana team.
In this role, you will manage a team of Area Process Engineers and Process Co-ordinators, to provide technical process engineering support within our operations team, helping drive safe, efficient and reliable plant performance. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support, expertise and direction to the Process, Production and Maintenance teams to optimise plant performance - production rates, final product quality, plant reliability and safety.
- Manage a team of Area Process Engineers and Process Co-ordinators to ensure the plant has the required technical process engineering support for safe and efficient plant operations.
- Lead ongoing work to debottleneck and ramp-up the lithium hydroxide refinery to nameplate capacity
- Support the production and maintenance team in the weekly and long-term maintenance and production planning process, including plant shutdowns.
- Monthly reporting, monitoring and optimisation of plant reagents and consumable costs (incl spodumene).
- Identify and drive critical improvement projects to increase plant production (rates and availability), lithium hydroxide product quality and safety improvement projects.
- Work collaboratively and build relationships with other key support departments, stakeholders and suppliers.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING
- Degree qualified Chemical or Metallurgical Engineer
- Minimum 15 years’ experience working in complex refinery and chemical plant operations, including experience in pyrometallurgical and/or hydrometallurgical processes.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Superintendent managing operational and/or technical teams.
- Previous experience in lithium refining will be highly regarded
- Strong leadership and management capabilities and experience
- A committed and practical approach to the safety and well-being of all staff
- A champion for continuous improvement of all operational processes
- Ability to build effective stakeholder relations across the organisation

LOCATION
TLEA proudly acknowledges and the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.
Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
