TLEA is welcoming applications for full time Specialist Contracts to join our team working at our Kwinana Lithium Hydroxide plant.

This position will primarily support TLEA’s Ramp-up Taskforce, a critical workstream focused on identifying, designing and delivering capital improvements required to achieve full nameplate production within the next 24 months. The role may also provide broader commercial and contracts support to operational and sustaining activities across the business as required.We are looking for a high performing commercially professional who thrives in a dynamic brownfields project and operational environment and can confidently manage complex contracts and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced industrial setting.

In addition to aligning with our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management position will suit an individual with experience of Procurement and Contracts within mining processing, manufacturing, oil & gas or heavy industry sectors.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contract Management:
    • Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, from tender, drafting, negotiation evaluations and award through to implementation, administration and close out.
    • Provide commercial advice and support to internal stakeholders to enable informed and effective decision making.
    • Develop sourcing strategies that identify value levers, commercial options and risk controls.
    • Lead commercial negotiations and provide strategic input into contract development and ongoing administration.
    • Identify contractual risks, and advise on mitigation strategies.
    • Maintain close effective relationship with other Project Management Team (PMT) members and Functional Managers, Finance, Legal and Risk Management to obtain and provide information regarding contract issues and mitigation strategies
    • Operate effectively in a high-profile capital project environment with demanding safety, quality, cost and schedule expectations.

 

  • Commercial & Claims Management:
    • Support Contract Owners and/or Project Managers with assessment and processing of progress claims.
    • Manage variations, claims and disputes resolution in  a timely and commercially sound manner.

 

  • Supplier Performance & Compliance:
    • Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance against contractual obligations and KPIs.
    • Work collaboratively with suppliers to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
    • Recommend and implement corrective actions where performance issues arise.
    • Act as the key interface between TLEA and contractors to ensure contractual compliance and issue resolution.

 

  • Governance & Process Development:
    • Establish and maintain processes, procedures and systems for contract and purchase order management.
    • Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting to demonstrate portfolio health and compliance.

 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal teams (Legal, technical SMEs, HSE, HR, Project Managers) on contractual and commercial matters.
    • Review scopes of work with SMEs to ensure clarity, alignment with business needs and incorporation of appropriate commercial protections.
    • Engage proactively with stakeholders to understand business requirements, and deliver practical  commercial outcomes.

 

  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare reports on contract performance, risks, compliance and supplier performance.
    • Develop high-quality Recommendations for Award and executive level papers to support business decisions

WHAT YOU CAN BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Law, Business, Engineering or related discipline (mandatory)
  • Significant experience in contract management or commercial role within mining processing, manufacturing, oil & gas or heavy industry.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience supporting brownfield or greenfield projects, either with anowner/operator or tier-1 contractor.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high value, complex contracts across goods supply, engineering, construction, maintenance, or shutdown environments.
  • Strong capability in claims management, variation assessment, dispute resolution, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with EPC/EPCM contracts, goods and service agreements, and Australian contract law and commercial frameworks.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel reporting.
  • Strong commercial acumen with ability to interpret technical scopes, identify risks and develop practical commercial terms.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.

LOCATION

TLEA proudly acknowledges and the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.

Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
