ABOUT THE POSITION

Are you passionate about making a real impact? TLEA is welcoming applications for a Senior Engineer IT Infrastructure to join our team on a permanent full-time basis, working in our office located in Kwinana.


The successful applicant will be responsible to primarily build, maintain and ensure the ongoing performance, security, reliability, testing and management of the entire company, IT and OT core network and server infrastructure. This role will also provide Level 3 support to the IT Service Desk and business personnel.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
  • In-depth experience with Microsoft technologies including) Active Directory, SQL Server, Exchange Online, DFS, File and Print Services ect.)
  • In-depth experience of Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft Purview
  • Experience of Operating/Deploying virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V, VMware, Proxmox, and Dell VxRail
  • Experience with operational technology environments, including Rockwell FactoryTalk, SCADA, and PLC systems
  • Solid understanding of physical network infrastructure, including data centre and server room best practices (cable management, hot/cold aisle containment, patching discipline)
  • Strong Knowledge of secure-by-design principles and physical/logical segmentation in hybrid OT/IT environments
  • Strong knowledge of Azure hybrid infrastructure (Azure Arc, AD Connect, Azure Stack, etc.)
  • Strong experience with Fortinet Ecosystem (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiNAC, FortiEMS, FortiZTNA), SIEMs, and web filtering solutions
  • Experience in network infrastructure including Dell and Cisco switching, VLANs, routing, and core-to-edge segmentation
  • High-level SQL Server knowledge including administration, performance tuning, and best-practice database setup
  • Strong scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, and Python
  • Infrastructure automation experience using Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for both cloud and on-premises environments
  • Solid experience automating and managing infrastructure with the same discipline as cloud-native platforms
  • Strong technical documentation skills across architecture, operations, and procedures
  • Proficient in ITIL v4 Change, Incident, and Problem Management

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide 3rd level support on complex incidents and infrastructure escalations
  • Triage tickets, respond to incidents, and deliver resolution updates to support training and knowledge sharing
  • Perform after-hours support for high-severity incidents, upgrades, and planned maintenance
  • Maintain and optimise network infrastructure across TLEA OT and corporate environments in alignment with ISO 27001 controls and Secure by Design principles
  • Ensure the security and integrity of systems through proactive access control, audit logging, and policy enforcement
  • Design and maintain infrastructure architecture across on-prem, network, and cloud platforms, including SASE-aligned solutions for secure access, identity-aware routing, and edge protection
  • Develop and maintain strategic infrastructure roadmaps for network, hypervisor platforms, and cloud services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practice
  • Lead the infrastructure team, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance management to ensure capability growth and accountability
  • Oversee team operations including task assignment, resource planning, documentation quality, and stakeholder engagement
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and secure-by-default thinking in infrastructure delivery
  • Manage backup and recovery operations in line with data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with data lifecycle policies including retention, archival, disposal, and access control across all critical systems.
  • Coordinate and apply security and platform patches across servers, network devices, and infrastructure systems, following risk-based vulnerability management practices and staged testing to minimise service impact.
  • Establish, maintain, and take ownership of infrastructure monitoring, proactively identifying and responding to platform, network, and backup events to ensure system health and early fault detection.
  • Oversee infrastructure change management processes, ensuring changes are controlled, documented, risk-assessed, and compliant with internal policies and ISO 27001 standards.
  • Monitor system and network performance to identify trends, bottlenecks, and capacity issues before they impact services.
  • Manage infrastructure-related vendor relationships and ensure compliance with licensing, support contracts, and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of infrastructure assets and configurations, ensuring changes are logged and recoverable (CMDB/alignment with asset management policies).

LOCATION
TLEA proudly acknowledges and the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant. 
Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
