ABOUT THE POSITION

TLEA is welcoming applications for a Senior Engineer, Commissioning, to join the team at our Kwinana plant on a one year max-term contract.

In this role you will lead commissioning activities across Tianqi Lithium Kwinana’s (TLK) portfolio of ramp-up brownfield projects, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and brought into operation in line with design specifications and rigorous safety standards. You will bring deep expertise in commissioning practices, mineral processing operations and sound engineering principles to support safe and successful start‑up outcomes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate personal commitment to safety and the well-being of people.
  • Provide input to the owner’s execution strategy and ensures that execution plans are consistent with that strategy.
  • Lead and manage Stage two and three commissioning to deliver a portfolio of projects, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Develop and implement commissioning scope plans, schedules and procedures.
  • Plan and oversee pre-commissioning, Stage two and three commissioning, readiness to handover to operations for start-up activities and stage four commissioning.
  • Be responsible for coordinating key interfaces between the commissioning team and project managers, lead engineers, design and discipline engineers, operation readiness team, construction team, operations team, OEM and equipment suppliers to ensure seamless commissioning and enable flawless start-up.
  • Perform and supervise control system design and implementation, functional and performance tests of equipment and systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during the commissioning process.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING

  • Tertiary degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of seven to 10 years’ experience in commissioning roles within mineral processing or heavy industrial plants.
  • Proven experience in leading commissioning and managing a portfolio of brownfield projects.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards, regulatory requirement and construction practices.
  • Strong knowledge/ability to read and identity the potential gaps in P&ID, Loop Diagram, control narratives, HAZOP during design phase from the stage four commissioning perspective. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Instrumentation Loop test including SIF (Safety Instrumented Function) and EEHA(Electrical Equipment in Hazardous area)

LOCATION

TLEA proudly acknowledges the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.

Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
