ABOUT THE POSITION

Are you passionate about making a real impact?

TLEA is welcoming applications for a highly experienced, full time Principal Technical Advisor to join our team working at our offices located in the Perth CBD.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical advice and oversight to management regarding the JV’s mining interests.

In addition to possessing our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this position will suit a senior mining industry expert with strong operational credibility, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to offer objective, experience‑based insights on complex mining and processing matters.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the governance and long‑term performance of a globally significant mining asset. Candidates who bring technical depth, independent judgement and a commitment to high‑quality decision support are encouraged to apply.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support TLEA management by reviewing strategic options, assessing operational performance, and providing clear, unbiased perspectives on major technical and capital decisions.
  • Play a key role in evaluating production plans, processing routes, resource development pathways, and project proposals, ensuring decisions are grounded in realistic assumptions and aligned with industry best practice.
  • A significant focus of the role involves diagnosing operational underperformance, identifying root causes, benchmarking against comparable operations, and highlighting opportunities for improvement. You will bring the ability to interrogate technical models, validate engineering decisions, and distinguish between genuine technical constraints and execution issues.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING

  • Significant experience in the mining industry, ideally with exposure to lithium or hard‑rock operations with deep hands-on experience in major project delivery.
  • Strong experience across the mining value chain — from resource evaluation and mine planning through to processing and operations — is essential
  • Experience contributing to Scoping, PFS or Feasibility Studies, and engaging with Boards, investors or JV partners will be highly regarded.
  • Proven track record in identifying and resolving operational underperformance.
  • Ability to interrogate technical models, assumptions, and engineering decisions.
  • Ability to translate technical analysis into clear, structured recommendations for decision-making.
  • Comfortable operating in a shareholder-facing role with high expectations on objectivity and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to constructively challenge senior management.
  • Willingness to provide clear, sometimes dissenting views where required.
  • Able to distil complex technical and operational issues into clear, decision-oriented insights.
  • Strong influencing skills without reliance on formal authority.
  • Understanding of governance dynamics in joint ventures or cross-border mining assets is highly desirable.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Contribute to a green and sustainable industry of the future.
  • Competitive salary with a performance-based discretionary bonus structure
