ABOUT THE POSITION

TLEA is welcoming applications for a full-time Manager Engineering & Maintenance to join our team at the Kwinana plant.
The successful applicant will lead the team responsible for delivering maintenance and driving engineering improvements across the refinery to ensure the continuous production of battery grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate. At this stage of our operations the Manager Engineering and Maintenance plays a critical role in supporting the plant’s ramp-up to stable, well-controlled operation at nameplate capacity, while establishing and embedding the maintenance systems and processes needed to sustain long-term performance.
In addition to demonstrating our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this role will suit an individual with extensive engineering and maintenance leadership experience, ideally gained in brownfields operational environments.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead your team in consistently carrying out hazard identification, task observations and workplace inspections to meet safety KPIs.
- Establish and embed the systems and processes required to effectively manage allmaintenance, engineering and reliability requirements across the refinery.
- Effectively plan and execute plant area and site-wide shutdowns to a high standard, ensuring safe, efficient and well‑coordinated delivery.
- Ensure the Management of Change (MOC) process is rigorously applied to safely implement plant, equipment and Engineering changes
- Lead and develop the mechanical and electrical engineering functions continuously improve equipment life, reliability and performance, while delivering priority rectification and improvement project across the plant.
- Monitor, analyse and manage key maintenance KPIs includingscheduled work completion, compliance, backlog, and MTTF to ensure st5rng planned maintenance discipline.
- Provide effective leadership and performance management through regular engagement coaching, and consistent application of HR processes.
- Champion safety by demonstrating strong visual leadership, reinforcing safe behaviours and driving positive safety outcomes across all work areas.
- Attract, develop and retain dhigh calibre technical and trade personnel to ensure all maintenance activities are adequately resourced and aligned with business objectives
WHAT YOU CAN BRING
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent).
- Significant professional experience within the industry.
- Extensive experience in leading a maintenance and engineering team within an operations environment is essential.
- Experience in similar refinery processes will be highly regarded. Strong technical knowledge of the equipment used in refining unit operations is essential.
- Experience in the commissioning and ramp-up of a green-fields plant will be highly regarded.
- Experience working successfully with people of different cultures will be considered advantageous.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency to resolve critical issues.
- A strong planning ethos to facilitate the development and execution of maintenance plans.
- Ability to effectively manage the safety performance, quality and productivity of contract labour.
- The ability to work effectively across all time horizons – short, medium and long-term.
- Ability to apply project management principles to maintenance and reliability improvement projects and activities
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement systems and processes that facilitate achieving a high standard of plant maintenance and reliability.
- Strong communication skills with all personnel from frontline workers to senior management.

LOCATION
TLEA proudly acknowledges and the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.
Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
